Best Friends Animal Society in Los Angeles

COVID-19 UPDATE: The Best Friends Lifesaving Center in Mission Hills is closed to the public. However, our team continues to move animals directly into forever homes with the help of technology, greatly reducing personal contact.

If you are interested in adopting a pet, please complete our dog adoption survey or cat adoption survey or kitten adoption survey to provide us information about your lifestyle and what you are looking for in a dog or cat. An adoption specialist will be in touch with you within 48 hours via phone or email to advise next steps. Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support for the animals of Los Angeles during these unprecedented times.

Visit the Best Friends Lifesaving Center where you can fall in love with more than 400 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies from Los Angeles Animal Services shelters.

The center is open daily from noon to 8 p.m. Conveniently located off the 118/405/5 freeways at 15321 Brand Boulevard, Mission Hills, CA 91345.

Best Friends Animal Society in Los Angeles is working collaboratively with animal rescue groups, city shelters and passionate individuals who are all dedicated to the mission of making Los Angeles a no-kill city. As part of this mission, Best Friends hosts adoption and fundraising events, runs the Best Friends Lifesaving Center in Mission Hills, and leads the NKLA (No-kill Los Angeles) initiative.
